What makes Thyme different from other calendars? Print

Thyme provides a unique combination of features. Click here to see our full list of features.

  • Advanced Access Control - Each calendar in Thyme has a Members list that can have specific access levels. Give each user a private calendar, create a calendar where visitors can request events, create a calendar that only members of a certain group can view - all easily configurable in Thyme.

  • Thyme's Updater - Thyme's installer/updater keeps your Thyme installation up-to-date from directly within Thyme's interface. You don't have to download and install an entire new version of Thyme just because an update was made to one of its files.

  • Easter based repeating - If your church needs a calendar, Easter based repeating events are crucial. Some web-based calendars will not allow a repeating event as simple as two days before Easter (good Friday).

  • Subscribe and update from a 3rd party application - Use a 3rd party application that supports iCalendar such as Outlook 2007, Apple iCal, and Mozilla Sunbird (free! from the makers of Firefox) to view and / or update Thyme while you're on the go. Other people can subscribe to your calendar to easily view your schedule or add an appointment to a calendar shared by your group.

  • Change a single instance of a repeating event - With Thyme you can change or remove a single instance of a repeating event. Things change. One of your weekly meetings may get pushed back one hour or canceled. Thyme can easily reflect this.

  • Authentication Modules - Chances are you already have a web site with existing users. Maybe your organization uses LDAP or Active Directory. Thyme's authentication modules allow you to utilize your existing user-base so that you don't have to maintain a separate list. All updates to your external authentication source are reflected in Thyme in real-time. You don't ever have to "sync" users between the two.

  • E-mail Subscriptions, Notifications, and Reminders - E-mail subscriptions allow users to subscribe to a weekly or daily calendar view. E-mail notifications notify users of updated and added events so that they never miss a calendar update. E-mail reminders remind users of upcoming events on a per-event basis.
